友凛庵の由来

About The YURINAN

原宿竹下通りの路面にお店を構え、日本の伝統的な和菓子であるどら焼きを一つひとつ心を込めてお届けしている当店は、創業当初、竹下通りの名に由来し、「凛」という字を「竹」に置き換えて〈友竹庵〉として歩みを始めました。

本来の〈友凛庵〉という名には、「多くの方々とのご縁と喜びを結び、凛とした和（輪）の心を大切にしたい」という想いが込められています。
その名に込められた“凛”の文字には、誠実さと品格を、そして“庵”の文字には、訪れる人がほっと一息つける温もりのある場所でありたいという願いを託しています。

おかげさまで現在では、国内外から多くのお客様にお越しいただけるお店へと成長いたしました。
これまで支えてくださった皆さまへの感謝を胸に、私たちは「日本の和菓子文化を次の世代、そして世界へとつなぐ」ことを使命と考えています。

この先10年、100年と続くブランドであり続けるために、
お客様と最も近い場所でおもてなしをする店舗を〈YURINAN〉、
そして私たちの理念と歩みを受け継ぐ存在として〈友凛庵〉の名を掲げています。

どら焼きを通して、人と人とを結び、喜びとご縁の輪を広げていく。
私たちはこの想いを胸に、これからも一歩ずつ、真摯に歩み続けてまいります。

Brand Story

Located along the lively streets of Harajuku’s Takeshita-dori, our shop has been sharing Japan’s beloved traditional confection, dorayaki, freshly made with heartfelt care each day.
When we first opened, we took inspiration from the name of Takeshita Street — replacing the character “凛 (Rin)” with “竹 (Take)” — and began our journey as Tomochikuan.

The name Tomorinan (友凛庵) carries a special meaning:
“To cherish the spirit of harmony, and to connect people through joy and friendship with a sense of grace and sincerity.”
The character Rin symbolizes integrity and elegance, while An represents a peaceful place — a small retreat where visitors can feel warmth and tranquility.

Over the years, we have been fortunate to welcome guests from all around the world.
With deep gratitude to everyone who has supported us, we are committed to passing on the beauty of Japanese wagashi culture to future generations — and beyond borders.

To carry this vision forward, our store — the place where we meet our customers face to face — bears the name YURINAN,
while Tomorinan represents our spirit, our philosophy, and our continuing journey.

Through dorayaki, we hope to connect hearts across the world, sharing the sweetness of joy and the bond of harmony.
With this belief, we will continue to walk forward with sincerity and pride in every step.
